I was pleased with Deutsche Medizinische Union: they responded quickly to my application (in contrast to the other two companies I had sent applications to at the same time), offered me the Helios clinic in Kreffeld, which I was very satisfied with, and promptly agreed on treatment dates. The communication with the clinic was very good and very informative.The facilities are very good. The staff are friendly and smiling. My English is poor and I don't speak German at all. My English was enough for everyday communication, but in the evening when the surgeon came to talk about the operation, he called the Russian-speaking nurse to improve communication.About the treatment: I had a knee arthroscopy for a meniscus rupture. Suffice it to say one thing about the treatment: I walked around Dusseldorf 3 days after the surgery and had a "light" shopping trip, and on the fourth day I had a six-hour flight.I would like to mention particularly the work of anaesthesiologists. The anesthesia was excellent. It was like I fell asleep for 5 minutes and then woke up without any discomfort (the surgery lasted over an hour). Michael patiently, competently answered hundreds of our questions and was available almost around the clock. With the help of DMU I underwent two courses of radioiodine therapy at HELIOS Klinikum Berlin-Buch. I am very satisfied both with the conditions of my stay and the attitude of the entire medical staff at the clinic. The treatment fees are transparent and clear: the clinic gives you a detailed invoice with details of how much each treatment costs. At the end of treatment the clinic made a recalculation and we got a part of money back. I would also like to thank Samir, DMU's patient support worker, who was able to quickly and efficiently arrange my second course of radioiodine therapy in difficult circumstances during the coronavirus pandemic. She treats every patient like a loved one. Even though this job is a huge moral effort, Alyona can always find words of support, and her optimism is a must in these situations. Feedback on our story of a successful neurosurgical removal of an orbital tumour at Helios ClinicWe express our deepest gratitude to everyone who helped our little son: DMU staff (Andre Saling, who deeply felt the problem, spent hours on the phone with me, discussing, evaluating, persuading to overcome my fears), the translator in Germany (Marina Gusina, great medical translation, full understanding, help in the clinic on different issues as they were), and most importantly, our doctor from God, neurosurgeon Professor R. The operation was much more difficult, longer, but still it is hard to believe - everything was done perfectly! Just jewelry work by a master of his craft and a real generous person!!!Many highly skilled doctors in Russia convinced us that such surgery was impossible; we also applied to other clinics in Germany, Israel, Spain, Switzerland and the USA. All of them suggested to leave the tumour, which was already 2 cm, without any certainty of its benignity, and just to watch.
